This is what happens when Wine Country tries to be hip.
According to SFGate, the Foo Fighters were hired to close out BottleRock 2017 in Napa Valley Sunday night, but it was the festival organizers who tried to close out the band when they played past a strict 10 p.m. curfew.
Yeah, that didn’t happen.
Despite the venue killing the sound midway through the band’s finale “Everlong,” Dave Grohl and company just said fuck it and continued to rock on. Their voices and instruments proved to be loud enough, and the crowd, who had quickly picked up on what was happening, helped see the song all the way until the end.
It was nothing short of a pure rock ‘n’ roll moment, kids:
Here’s a tip for the crew in charge of BottleRock when it comes to planning next year’s festivities. If you want a talented group of badass musicians to rock concertgoers’ dicks off, then bring in a band like the Foo Fighters and let them play until 10:03 p.m. if need be. Otherwise, if you’re strictly looking for a band that will be off the stage by 9:59 p.m. so everybody can go home and get some sleep, bring in the Goo Goo Dolls.
