New Music | Toro y Moi Shares His New ‘Boo Boo’

The Berkeley-based chillwave artist announces a new album to go with his new name.

Toro y Moi has a new album on the way, but that’s not all. The Berkeley-based musician and producer formerly known as Chaz Bundick, has announced that he’s changing his given name to Chaz Bear.

In the same personal statement, Chaz Bear aka Toro y Moi, shed some light on the follow-up to 2015’s What For?, which will be called Boo Boo. The 12-track album will come out July 7 via Carpark and was influenced by an eclectic mix of Daft Punk, Frank Ocean, Travis Scott, and Oneohtrix Point Never.

“I recognized that the common thread between these artists was their attention to a feeling of space, or lack thereof,” writes Chaz Bear. Check out the video for the album’s first single, “Girl Like You” and the tracklist below.
