Tyler the Creator and A$AP Rocky Come at the Question Sideways

In the video for ‘Who Dat Boy,’ the duo gives Tyler a new identity to elude the cops.

There’s a typically off-kilter savvy to the way Tyler the Creator blends the elements in the video for his new track, “Who Dat Boy,” which co-stars Tyler and A$AP Rocky. The clip kicks off with a tense horror movie score, Tyler seated with his back to the camera, and then morphs into a police chase with Tyler making a getaway by sporting a new (white,) freshly sewn on face. It’s Tyler’s own twist on capturing this particular political moment and what it means for a Black man to be in contact with the cops: no on-the-nose commentary, and with dark humor as the thread tying it all together. Tyler directed the clip under his alias Wolf Haley.
