We're keeping it short and sweet for this week with complete streams of a few new albums definitely worth taking the time for a full listen. Quality trumps quantity this week, ladies and gentlemen, and thanks to NPR.org, we get to wrap our ears around some great music before it's released.
Death Cab For Cutie: Codes and Keys
The full-length follow-up to Death Cab For Cutie’s smash success of Narrow Stairs was recorded at various studios over the course of several months in 2010, a formula departure of sorts for the band that features a greater presence of guitarist/producer Chris Walla’s compositions. Frontman Ben Gibbard, who likened Codes and Keys to Brian Eno’s Another Green World.

The sixth studio LP from My Morning Jacket arrives in just a few days (May 31), and fans can listen to the entire thing now before they by courtesy of the nonprofit wizards over at NPR.
Circuital is a headlong leap down an artistic rabbit hole for the band, who have seen a skyrocketing of exposure and attention since 2008’s Evil Urges, their fifth and most recent release. Listeners will find the experience more consistent in sound and scope than their last offering, and – if your take is anything like mine – considerably more enjoyable in its psychedelia flirtation.
