Indie pop band The Babies have announced plans for a North American tour, including several stops north of the border at Canadian venues.

Hot off the heels of releasing their most recent single "Get Lost" from their upcoming album "Our House on the Hill," the tour will start in their hometown of Brooklyn, New York at the Knitting Factory on November 13th and will wrap up in Philly on December 22nd. So far the three Canadian dates on the bill are stops in Montreal on November 15th, in Toronto on November 16th and in Vancouver on November 29th.

The Babies were created in Brooklyn in 2009 and features Kevin Morby, Cassie Ramone, Justin Sullivan, and Brian Schleyer. Originally conceived as a side-project outlet for Morby and Ramone to trade song ideas and play house parties, the band has slowly evolved into a full-time gig, having done several stateside and European tours. After releasing a slew of singles and a 12″ collection of demos and rarities on New Images, the band is geared up for the release of their new album (to come out on Woodsist) and their upcoming tour.

According to a statement from the group (as reprinted by, "In February 2012, the band swapped their usual environs of Brooklyn’s Rear House recording studio and spent two weeks in Los Angeles working with Producer Rob Barbato (Darker My Love, The Fall, Cass McCombs). The increased time and focus allowed them to explore musical directions only hinted at on their first album. 'Our House on the Hill' is said to feature hushed dirges, melancholic traveling odes and squealing rave-ups.”
