No more grapevine talk – Lenny Kravitz has been confirmed to play crooner legend Marvin Gaye in a biopic on the "Sexual Healing" singer's life.

When Vulture.com spoke to Lenny Kravitz last week, he cleverly side-stepped a question about being cast in the upcoming film, saying, "There’ll be more to come, information-wise, very shortly." Shortly after, Deadline confirmed that the "Are You Gonna Go My Way?" rocker will star in a film set in the eighties, when the soul legend was making efforts to revitalize his struggling career and tackle his drug habit.

The Marvin Gaye film will be directed by Julien Temple, and will begin shooting in 2013 with music rights already cleared. It's a hard thing to imagine, but we're on board. Let's get it on.
