Since its arrival on U.S. shores, Spotify has become the ubiquitous streaming giant everyone predicted it would, and while it's not exactly the end-all answer to the music industry financial woes, the music service has certainly brought a considerable chunk of American music fans into the streaming age.

Reflecting on their staggeringly successful year, Spotify has released its list of the most streamed artists and songs in 2012. As expected the list is filled with the inescapable hits we were deluged with this year, many of which we'd honestly rather forget. And naturally, Gotye's smash single "Somebody That I Used To Know" sits pretty at the very top of the list. Check out the full tally below.
