Wintersleep Lead Noms Vying For East Coast Music Awards

Six groups are going after Album of the Year.

The 25th East Coast Music Awards are taking place next month, and a number of Maritime bands are battling for the honours, including six groups who are after the Album of the Year title.

The band Wintersleep have six noms (including the coveted Album of the Year), and musician Chris Kirby is also one of the leading acts in terms of nominations, with more than 10 for his latest album "Wonderizer." The Once is up for three awards as well.

Other bands going after Album of the Year are Gypsophilia for their album "Constellation," Jenn Grant and her album "The Beautiful Wild," Matt Mays and his album "Coyote," and Radio Radio and "Havre de Grâce."

Nominations for the ECMA were announced this past Tuesday afternoon, and the 2013 East Coast Music Awards will be held on Sunday, March 10th at the Cunard Centre. Tickets for the awards event will cost $55 including all taxes and fees, and can be purchased here. Meanwhile, the industry award nominees will be announced on February 5th.
