Sound City, the documentary about the life and times of the storied Sound City Studios in Los Angeles, has been a labor of love for Foo Fighters frontman and first-time director Dave Grohl.
So it only stands to reason that for the film's debut at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, Grohl went out of his way to promote the project — and for lucky fans in Park City for the festival, that meant a full-blown Dave Grohl concert featuring truckloads of Grohl's celebrity friends and fellow rock icons as his Sound City Players.
With the Foo Fighters as the de facto house band, Grohl played host to rollicking sets with John Fogerty, Stevie Nicks, Rick Springfield and others during the marathon 4-hour-plus show.
Crave's Nash Herrington got the full debrief on the amazing show from one of our own — Crave producer Aaron Tabas.
And don't take Aaron's word for it (and since we know him, we understand if you're skeptical)… check out some of the performances from that incredible night!
