Eminem is hard at work on his eight solo studio album, the first release since his collaborative 2011 EP Hell: The Sequel with Royce da 5'9.
Em's manager Paul Rosenberg has told Billboard that the rapper is "far into the process" of recording, and the finished product will likely see the light of day sometime after Memorial Day
Rosenberg said: "We fully expect to be releasing a new Eminem album in 2013. He's been working on it for some time. It's safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point, but we’re not exactly sure when. We've got some dates locked in for him to perform live in Europe in August, so we’re trying to see what else lines up."
We first heard of Em working on new material in May of 2012, when he was promoting the then-upcoming sophomore release by his protege group Slaughterhouse: Slim Shady told New York radio station Hot 97 earlier this week: "Right now, I'm actually finishing up everything on the Slaughterhouse album and kind of getting into my next record a little bit. That's basically the couple of things that I've been working on. I'm starting to toy with a new album, yes."
We'll keep you posted on details as they develop. Additionally, Eminem will play a hugely anticipated show in Glasgow this August 20, kicking off a brand new concert series called the Glasgow Summer Sessions. He will also serve as headliner for this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals, which take place between 23 and 25 August.
