Sad Robot, a passionate, dirty-fuzz indie rock outfit fronted by Katherine Pawlak, has grabbed our attention, and we're paying it forward with an exclusive and intimate in-studio performance from the Los Angeles trio. After concreting an ideal lineup and delivering a strong debut LP with last year's 1.0, the band was given a leg up when the album's lead single "Hold On" was featured on the Fox crime drama/comedy series "Bones," buoying exposure for an outfit known for delivering emotionally raw rock by the barrel.

Since the release of their 2010 EP The Beginning (of the End), Sad Robot has gone through a number of lineup changes, finally locking in to the magic formula in a 3-piece consisting of Pawlak, guitarist Nick Perez and drummer Jake Hogenson. With their sights set on making 2013 a banner year, the group paid a visit to CraveOnline's studios for our latest CraveOnstage session.

First up is an acoustic take on "Sing," a grooving little rocker from the band's new album:

Check back later this week for the rest of our CraveOnstage session with Sad Robot! If you're just catching on to these guys, your timing is excellent – next weekend they head back to the studio to begin work on the follow-up to 1.0. In the meantime, keep up with the band at the following links:
