Lady Gaga has cancelled the entirety of her upcoming Born This Way tour due to health complications that have gone beyond her control.

On Tuesday, the meat-dress wearing pop weirdo princess announced plans to reschedule four of her tour dates due to “severe joint inflammation.” Further tests proved more serious than originally believed, however, and “it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip caused by strenuous repetitive movements in her performances,” according to a statement posted on her website.

Gaga “will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour, so she can heal.”

In the wake of the announcement, fans have reacted with outpourings of support for the pop superstar. The original announcement on Gaga's has more than 1,150 comments from fans wishing her a speedy recovery.

Gaga, for her part, expressed her utmost reluctance to cancel the dates, saying "I hid it from my staff, I didn't want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last nights performance I could not walk and still can't."

The entire run of 20 dates have been axed, and fans can receive refunds where they purchased their tickets beginning today (Feb. 14).
