2015 Grammy Nominees Announced: Hold The Laughter

The 2015 Grammy nominees have arrived, with a ridiculously polarizing list of artists up for gold.

On CBS This Morning, Pharrell Williams and Ed Sheeran announced the first few categories in a daylong rollout of the 2015 Grammy nominations. Let’s just say the list so far leaves quite a bit lacking in the celebration zone.

More specifically: U2 is nominated for Best Rock Album for their failed-surprise album which was force-fed to iTunes users in a move the band called “punk rock”. Meanwhile, the music is terribly unmemorable, and everyone from Iggy Pop to The Black Keys decried the stunt as a devalorization of music itself.

The Album Of The Year nominees will be announced on a televised A Very Grammy Christmas (Friday, Dec. 5, 9/8c, CBS), and the rest of the nominees will be announced throughout the day, officially on Twitter, because everything has to be a goddamn social media parade of false relevancy. This is so freakin’ unnecessary.

The 2015 Grammy Awards air live on February 8, 2015 on CBS. In the meantime, have a stroll through some unflattering Grammy comments made by Jay Z, Eddie Vedder, Trent Reznor and more in our list of The Grammys Top 12 Bashers & Boycotters.
