Sound Spotlight: Hail The Villain ('Runaway' Video Premiere!)

Hard and heavy Canadian newcomers Hail the Villain were one of the breakout acts on the first-ever Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Tour last Summer, and there’s been no turning back for a band that’s surprising and inspiring at an accelerating pace, winning new fans on both sides of the border with their unexpectedly fantastic 2010 album Population: Declining from Warner Music/Roadrunner Records.

We’re proud to present the world premiere of Hail the Villain’s video for "Runaway," a kickass scream-along single off Population: Declining. Here’s what the guys had to say about the video and working with director/photographer extraordinaire Phil Mucci:

"We had an awesome time making this video with Phil Mucci. It’s always a relief when someone can take your vision and make it a reality. We hope you guys enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it….

WHEN I SAY GO…."

Check out the video for "Runaway," for the first time anywhere:

“Runaway” was the official theme song for 2010′s WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event, and has turned many interested heads with a blistering burst of impassioned rock goodness that showcases what separates the Canadian crushers’ sound from the endless tides of would-be competitors.

Further proof that Hail The Villain are anything but your typical band lies in the fact that their world includes not only the music, but a dynamic live show, animated videos, a comic book, a unique interactive website and plans for a film, if time and energy allows. “Most people are going to aim for what’s attainable,” says frontman Bryan Crouch.  “For us, it’s aiming for what’s unattainable.”

Keep up with Hail The Villain at their Facebook page, or if you still like your clicks to be 2004-style, their MySpace page. I kid, I kid…. but not really.
