The official video for Cee-Lo’s instant smash hit "Fuck You" has finally hit, and we can surely expect a double-dip of controversy over the fact that little kids are featured as the central characters. Maybe that’ll give the radio people something to talk about, since their edited version is tragically unlistenable (replacing “fuck” with “forget” just doesn’t work, guys).
Taking place in an old school diner, the video plays out a young-love heartbreaker narrative with a kid we’re clearly intended to perceive as a much younger version of Cee-Lo. We see his first love, and the way he attempts to woo her in the booth with his toy trucks – which, of course, is fully pimp for a six year old.
With heartbreaker word bubbles and pop-up Motown doo-woppers adding comic hilarity, the vid’s a surefire win. It was premiered earlier this morning on Cee-Lo’s official Facebook page.
