Homeland pride is a strong currency in the Southern music scene, and the Texas Hippie Coalition are a band that defines a picture-perfect dose of Lone Star State rock n' roll attitude.

The five-piece band of metal brothers from the great Burnt Orange panhandle champion the paths cut by their musical heroes while forging their own brand of kickass dirt-infused hard rock. Everyone from Pantera to Skynrd to Johnny Cash comes through the searing sounds they've built in the five years since first combining talents, creating a modern hybrid that's a force to be reckoned with.

The band has just released their sophomore album Rollin through Carve Records to critical acclaim, with pulverizing riffs and a whole lotta Southern rock flowing through their veins. To hear the dirty sounds of these raw, in-your-face rock and rollers head to THC's MySpace page

In the meantime, we caught up with true-to-name frontman Big Dad Ritch for his take on the Top 10 Texas-Born Girls, something this dirt-metal rockin' native boy knows plenty about. He also provided some colorful commentary...

1. Farrah Fawcett

The devil in me loves the angel that Ferrah Fawcett is.

2. Jessica Simpson

Just one more reason to watch a Cowboys game, Jessica Simpson in the stands...

(ED: Will she be there post-Romo?)

3. Shannon Elizabeth

American Pie! Big Dad loves pie.

4. Kim Smith (Victoria Secret model)

Girls in panties, there's nothing left to be said.

5. Eva Longoria

The only reason I would sit down to watch prime time television.

6. Beyonce Knowles

Jay Z is one rapper I respect, but I'd go Chris Brown on his ass for Bouncey.

7. Tanya Tucker

She makes me feel like a rhinestone cowboy, no offense Glenn Cambell...

8. Jerry Hall

Good enough for rockstars like Mick Jagger and the Joker, good enough for the King of Texas.

9. Selena Perez

MySpace Comments

Queen of Latino, almost the Queen of Texas.

(This one needs a moving visual.)

10. Bonnie Parker (Bonnie & Clyde)

Purebred outlaw baby!
