Gorillaz mare in our midst once more. Chameleonic band mastermind Damon Albarn & Co. have won the internet leak battle with the band's third album, Plastic Beach, preventing the massively-anticipated tracks from seeing the light of day - until now, that is.
You can hear the entire record streaming now on NPR, where Gorillaz have made the sounds available a week prior to physical release.
It's a bit early to tell for sure, but on first listen I'm finding this to be a severe downturn from the group's previous two albums. In fact, Plastic Beach seems to be the most deflating highly-anticipated release since Guns 'n Roses' colossal flop Chinese Democracy. I'll give it a few more listens before a proper review, but as it stands, the hype madness for Massive Attack's Heligoland was far more warranted.
Plasitc Beach gets a proper release on March 9. In the meantime, enjoy the new video for their first single, "Stylo":
Yes, that's Bruce Willis.
