We've got the details on the soundtrack to the upcoming Tim Burton movie Alice in Wonderland, and let's just say that if the soundtrack lineup is any indication of what the film's going to be like, we may as well skip the entire damn thing
First things first, however. Have you seen the trailer for the film?
Looks pretty awesome, right? Well, you may have to hold your ears during the thing, because unlike Karen O's marvelous cauldron of sounds for the Where The Wild Things Are soundtrack, they've lined up one hell of a lame-ass collection of musicians for this one. Avril Lavigne's "Alice (Underground)" is the lead single, and new music from Shinedown, Metro Station, and All Time Low.
You think that's bad? I'm just getting started. Tour-mates Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy and Mark Hoppus of Blink 182 collaborated on a song, "In Transit," and shameless Postal Service ripoff Jesus freak Owl City is contributing as well, among others. "Very Good Advice" performed by Robert Smith, is the only song from Disney's 1951 animated original Alice in Wonderland that appears on the collection.
Thankfully, Almost Alice will be one of two soundtracks for the film that are to be released on March 2nd. The second will feature the original score by Danny Elfman. Alice in Wonderland hits theaters three days later, on March 5th.
