Steven Tyler Not Leaving Aerosmith, Checks Into Rehab

Painkillers are a bitch, apparently.

Steven Tyler, the iconic singer for Aerosmith, has checked into rehab for treatment for an addiction to pain killers.

The rocker, who's no stranger to rehab and completed a stint just last year, has been reportedly struggling with pain management for a long time.

"With the help of my family and team of medical professionals I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain," Tyler told Rolling Stone. "I am eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my bandmates." He added.

The news comes after a tidal wave of speculation in the past month over the singer's well-being, particularly after Aerosmith's Brad Whitford revealed the frontman may have 'drug abuse going on'.

Earlier in the year Aerosmith were forced to cancel their summer tour after Tyler fell onstage, and guitarist Joe Perry has been outspoken about the vocalist's change of behavior and reluctance to commit to the band.

Despite his admission to rehab, Tyler says that rumours that he was leaving the group are false.

"I wish to set the record straight and say that I have read reports of a rumoured two-year hiatus and want to be clear that this is completely false." he explained. "I will enthusiastically be writing, recording and performing with Aerosmith as soon as things are handled."
