Fans have been waiting for what seems like forever for Lil’ Wayne’s notoriously-delayed Rebirth album, but thanks to a shipping error made by Amazon, 500 lucky pre-orderers already have the album – two months ahead of schedule.
In today’s age of rampant downloading and obsessive leak-prevention security by record labels, Amazon.com prematurely mailed out 500 copies of Lil Wayne’s new album, according to multiple reports, despite Baby (aka Birdman) recently saying the album was pushed back untill February 2010, which will likely coincide with the beginning of Wayne’s yearlong prison sentence.
The screw-up would go a long way towards explaining the recent leak of the Lil Wayne / Eminem track "Drop The World," produced by Hit-Boy & Chase N. Cashe. No word yet from Amazon regarding the serious mistake, but we’re sure to hear a whole lot more about this in the run-up to the album’s release.
