The Cold War Kids' second album, Loyalty To Loyalty, was a more down-tempo affair than their gospelicious first album, Robbers And Cowards, and while the record was certainly damn good, it left some fans longing for a return to their piano-heavy soul-stomping ways. There wasn't quite enough of the drunken swagger flare that listeners first warmed up to, and it's been sorely missed.
Heeding the call, Nathan Willet and company seem to have returned to form for a batch of new material they plan to release next month on an EP called Behave Yourself. It will be available digitally on Dec. 21, while the hard copy will hit stores Jan. 19.
The first single is called "Audience," a soulful track with punchy, upbeat overtones - and it's already converting the skeptics. To download the track, head over to the official RCRDLBL site.
The following is a promo for Behave Yourself, featuring snippets of "Audience" as well as a few other songs on the EP.
Exciting, no?
