This has been quite a year for Lil Wayne - he smashed the charts with Tha Carter III and launched a major Young Money tour before pleading guilty to gun charges that carry a one-year jail sentence. Now, a new documentary film about the rap sensation is about to hit the streets, but chances are, Weezy doesn't want you to see it.
Here's the trailer for Lil Wayne: The Carter:
Wayne filed a law suit attempting to block the release of Lil Wayne: The Carter last April, claiming producers had broken a final-edit clause in their contract. The film reportedly chronicles Dwayne Carter's life, from his constant routine of writing and recording to his struggle with opiate cough syrup addiction. In never-before-seen video footage shot both onstage and off, viewers are witness to raw, unfiltered emotion and events that go on behind the scenes. The judge didn't agree with Carter, and a Nov. 17 DVD release date has been announced.
In other Weezy news, we've finally confirmed a Dec. 15 release date for his long-awaited rock album, Rebirth. Wayne is also in the midst of recording Tha Carter IV, MTV reports.
