Foo Fighters are set to release their 'Greatest Hits' collection on November 2, and after playing the first of two new songs, "Wheels," at the Presidential Fourth of July White House party, today they made the second available. "Word Forward" was recorded with producer Butch Vig at the Foos' own 606 studio, and will be included on the compilation with songs such as "The Pretender," "All My Life" and "Times Like These," "My Hero, "Everlong" and many more.
The song is meant to be commentary on the might of a pen, but quickly dries up and reeks of the filler that it is. Grohl is far more capable of writing good tracks than this, but there's a clear reason for his distraction: Dave is currently playing drums in Them Crooked Cultures with Josh Homme and John Paul Jones, and we're losing our mind with anticipation for the November 17th release of their debut album.
