DJ Hero Preview Party With DJ Muggs, Luckyiam & Everlast

The stars come out to play XBox 360 in downtown Los Angeles

High-profile celebs and musicians rocked a gorgeous penthouse of a high rise in the heart of downtown Los Angeles last weekend for an Xbox 360 exclusive preview of the hotly-anticipated new game, DJ Hero

With the game's Oct. 27 launch quickly approaching, guests of varying scratching power tried their hands on the turntables and spun beats. Comedian Nick Swardson, Cypress Hill's DJ Muggs, House of Pain's Everlast, Ben Baller, Luckyiam of Living Legends and Mystikal Journeymen, Tila Tequila and many others sampled the game, which boasts over 100 individual songs, highlighted in 93 unique never-before-released mixes that blend genres of music, including hip-hop, pop, rock and dance.

In addition to spanning the music spectrum from the Beastie Boys to Foreigner, DJ Hero showcases superstar DJs like Cut Chemist, Grandmaster Flash, Z-trip, and the late DJ AM. Multiple gaming stations were placed throughout the venue, which provided a gorgeous view the entire city. Guests were invited to check the game out for themselves, and a selected few were given their own copy on the way out the door. I wasn't one of them, but that's probably for the best, because this piece would never have gotten written otherwise. If you thought Guitar Hero was addictive, just wait until you've seen this. Check out our hands-on preview of DJ Hero.

The event was hosted by Ben Baller, with live DJ sets from DJ Skee and DJ Hier. Look for DJ Hero on October 27 in both the standard $120 edition and the $200 Renegade Edition, which comes with a stand for your turntable controller and an exclusive CD featuring Jay-Z and Eminem.
