Davey Havok, Jade Puget, Hunter Burgan and Adam Carson, collectively known as AFI, are set to release their eighth studio album, Crash Love, September 29th on DGC/Interscope Records. And while you've undoubtedly heard their first single, "Medicate," we've got a sneak peek of another brand new track, "I Am Trying Very Hard To Be Here" - a CraveOnline exclusive, just for you:
Produced by Joe McGrath (Alkaline Trio, Green Day) and Jacknife Lee (U2, Weezer), Crash Love is being touted as AFI's most focused, direct and ambitious effort to date.
"I am so proud of this record," declared frontman Havok. "I really believe it's the best AFI record. It honestly feels like we've made our first truly timeless record. We didn't set out to do that--you can't set out to do something like that--but it definitely feels like that's what we've achieved: created the album by which we'll be remembered."
That's a bold statement, and one we'd be quick to shoot down if it weren't for the fact that, from what we've heard so far, Davey's completely right in his assessment.
The follow up to platinum albums Sing The Sorrow (2003) and Decemberunderground (2006) will hit stores September 29th
Crash Love is available for pre-order now on iTunes. Fans who pre-order the album from iTunes will also receive the exclusive bonus track, "Breathing Towers to Heaven," an unreleased demo from the new album sessions. The new iTunes Store in iTunes version 9.0 has a new feature: iTunes LP, and there is a special page set up for Crash Love's iTunes LP Version.
From the page:
'Pre-order the new album from these punk-rock stalwarts and you can also enjoy a more in-depth experience with iTunes LP: rock out to two exclusive audio tracks, browse photos, listen to interviews with each band member, and more ... can be heard especially loud and clear on the metal-shredding opener, 'Torch Song,' and impassioned power ballad 'It Was Mine.'"
So, to get this special version of Crash Love, download iTunes 9 from Apple.com and visit their page on the new iTunes Store. This deluxe edition costs $12.99. Or you can skip the runaround and just just preorder the album here.
