The anticipation is growing for Pearl Jam’s upcoming ninth studio album Backspacer, and the band are taking a new look at things as they ramp up for its Sept. 20 release.
Check out this short Backspacer film featuring the band, produced by Three On The Tree and directed by Danny Clinch. The ten-minute clip provides an inside look at the making of Backspacer, as well as interviews with the band and footage of what appears to be their latest team-building ritual: axe-throwing.
The video, which includes two new songs by the band – "Got Some" and "Just Breathe" – on top of the first single off of the album, "The Fixer," is an inspiring look inside the mechanics of one of the final standing survivors of Seattle's infamous ’90s rock movement (just please don't say the "G" word). Similar in essence to 1998’s Single Video Theory documenting the making of the band’s Yield album, this mini-documentary is an exciting glimpse at what’s to come from a band that plays from the heart.
Backspacer is slated for a September 20 release.
