David Bowie: iSelect
David Bowie personally selected and offered new commentary on 12 tracks with an accompanying 8-page booklet for iSelect, a compilation CD of Bowie's personal favorites compiled by Bowie himself. "Personal favorites" indicates that this isn't your usual greatest hits record. The album contains only three of Bowie's more widely known singles, which means it's for the obsessors and abstract collectors only.
Copeland: You Are My Sunshine
After three critically acclaimed records, Copeland returns with a hearty love of soundscapes, driving guitars and dynamics in songwriting unforseen. Teaming up with Tooth & Nail Records on the release, a special edition deluxe box set will offer an 11 song soundtrack, a documentary about the band and other unique footage.
Ingrid Michaelson: Be OK
Ingrid Michaelson, and indie popper with a beautiful voice presents a benefit album that will include previously unreleased songs, demos, covers and live recordings. A portion of the proceeds will go to Stand Up To Cancer, an organization created to urgently move cancer research forward with the help of the public. Her new song "Be Ok" and its video are part of the SU2C campaign. It's a pretty, nice track. Worth checkin' out.
Nikka Costa: Pebble to a Pearl
Costa rocks the retro-soul grrl growl with the best of em (including a certain beehive-hairdo crackhead), but this latest turn is unfortunately a little too bland to steal anyone's thunder. The tracks are good, and the girl's got sauce, but it's missing some of the fire that first drew us to a certain Miss Windehouse such a short time ago.

We're still more than two weeks outside of Halloween, but the Christmas cash registers have begun ringing in full swing. Out of sheer ethical obligation (honest, it's not the retching disgust), we're omitting details on the New Kids on the Block Christmas album. It's for the best.

The album features "Blue Christmas" with Martina McBride, "I'll Be Home for Christmas" with Carrie Underwood, "Here Comes Santa Claus" with LeAnn Rimes... you get the idea. Nothing is or will ever be sacred again.
