New videos from mega-hyped screamo-hop band by Jonas Akerlund

Hollywood Undead are best known for being one of the first bands to really take advantage of MySpace music as a tool for shameless self promotion, achieving million upon million of page views and song plays in record time.

Within the space of a few months, and without ever releasing an album or even playing a show, HU found itself at the center of a record label bidding war followed by a censorship controversy that finally culminated in the release of their debut album this month on A&M/Octone.

We have two new videos from the band, one for the song “No. 5” and another for the song “Undead”, both of which were directed by Jonas Akerlund, the man behind nearly every goddamn music video to be shown on television in the last ten years. Hollywood Undead certainly invite their share of controversy, with at least one of their videos being so hardcore that it’s shocking even to me. But do they live up to the hype? I guess it’s up to the kids to decide that.
