So it goes without saying that a well known rapper could never have been a cop right? Right?!? Well according to The Smoking Gun.com that’s exactly the case for Rick Ross.
Ross has denied claims that he was in fact a Dade County corrections officer back when he was just 19 years of age. His real name is William Leonard Roberts, how he picked the name of a west coast street legend is beyond us but that’s neither here nor there, the fact is somebody is lying.
Ross is saying that someone doctored a photo of him from high school and cropped his head over the portly body of someone else for the photo shaking hands with a representative from the Department of Corrections on graduation day. Never mind that an official document from the DoC depicts a prison guard with the same name and social security number in the employ of the DoC, that kind of stuff can be doctored too right. Here’s the photo in question thanks to Media TakeOut.com.

I’d like to meet the photoshop genius that supposedly ‘doctored’ this photo and give him a job because that shit is amazing. I’ll bet five bucks that said when Rick Ross took that picture he thought, “I wonder how this will affect my future rap career? I know I’d better find a west coast drug dealer to name myself after, that’ll fix everything.”
So what will happen to the drug dealing rap star now? Will he have to admit that he never sold drugs? Or that he sold drugs as a corrections officer? But wait, wouldn’t that be gangsta? How many other rappers can say that they lead a life of crime from both sides of the fence? How come we can’t give ol’ Ricky Ross the benefit of the doubt? Because this shit is just too damn good to let go of.
If this picture is a fake then Rick Ross will eventually be exonerated as a proper criminal turned rapper who will never be brought to justice for all the crimes he brags about committing on his tracks. If that is really Rick Ross (and it is dammit) then this might spell the end for the Dade County rapper who apparently at some point in his life walked the straight and narrow.
What I can’t wait for is the OJ style home video of Ross trying to find the culprits of this awful and damaging prank. I also can’t help but point out that this might be the funniest ‘outing’ since we discovered that Vanilla Ice wasn’t from the mean streets of where ever he pretended he was from. Lastly this might also mark the first occasion that learning that someone had a good job spelled the end of his career, well I guess that’s Hip Hop for you.
Good luck Mr. Ross, I hope you catch the photoshop bandits for putting you on front street.
