Rock the Bells began as a one-day show in California in 2004, featuring a reunited Wu Tang Clan. It immediately established a presence by showcasing more underground artists like Del the Funky Homosapien, MF Doom, Sage Francis and Jedi Mind Tricks. In four short years, the festival has grown to include multiple stages and events in various cities. This year's RtB is set to push the limits even further, hitting a total of ten cities before making its first trip overseas to Europe and Japan.
“Our thought is that we always want to put together a well-rounded bill that represents a lot of different facets of live hip-hop,” says founder and organizer Chang Weisberg.
Additional acts are expected to be announced soon. Venue and ticket information for the Chicago show has yet to be announced, so it might be a good idea to join the Rock the Bells mailing list at the official site. (rockthebells.net)
