The last John Mayer album to hit the store shelves came September 12th, 2006, and according to fans, you should feel sorry you missed it, the album was nominated for two Grammy’s and went platinum after all.  If that is the case and you didn’t pick up Continuum from Mr. Mayer (even after he appeared on the Dave Chapelle show with ?uestlove?) then you might be considered the smart one because Continuum has been re-released  with a second bonus CD included. The bonus CD contains six live tracks from his tour during the past summer of 2007.

The six songs featured on the bonus CD are mostly from the original album, but are performed live. These songs include Vultures, Belief, Waiting on the World to Change, Dreaming with a Broken Heart, and Gravity. The album also includes I Don’t Need no Doctor (a Ray Charles cover that he performed with the John Mayer Trio). As an added bonus, the CD set will come with a twenty page booklet filled with liner notes, original photos, and of course lyrics. This is definitely the right time of year for an album like this to come out; John Mayer fans everywhere are already counting down the days until Christmas.

For fans who have already purchased the first volume of Continuum I would suggest spending the loot on this one too, the live music on the bonus CD is well worth it. Especially considering that John Mayer is a musician you would want to see live if you could, this new CD might just be the next best thing. The album hits record stores on November 20th, 2007 from Columbia Records.
