After spending nearly a year of his life helping victims of the Katrina tragedy, David Banner is back with his latest release ‘The Greatest Story Ever Told’. In the game since 1996 Banner hit the Hip Hop world hard in 2003 with his Gold certified album titled ‘Mississippi: The Album’ and helped to put his region on the map as well as change the way mainstream audiences perceived Hip Hop and all its stereotypes. Last year Banner put his hit making on hold in order to get directly involved in the relief effort following Hurricane Katrina, much to the chagrin of conservatives and civil rights leaders that Banner courageously called out for their lack of involvement in the relief effort.

With that behind him, and music and film in his immediate future, Banner expressed his excitement for his newest project, “Everyone wants to hear the hits and I got em’” Banner also adds, “But I wouldn’t be calling it ‘The Greatest Story’ if it also wasn’t truthful. My fans know I’m going to be telling it straight-up however I’m coming.” The album is set for a fall release with the first single off the album titled ‘Speaker’ will feature Akon, Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg. He will also be joined by the likes of Chris brown, Jim Jones, UGK, Cool & Dre, as well as Nitti amongst others. As if that wasn’t enough information, there is also word that David banner will be getting involved with ‘Rock The Bells Tour’ this year.

Banner will be joining performers like Wu-Tang Clan, Rage Against the Machine, Pharoahe Monch, Slum Village, Jedi Mind Tricks and many others for the 2007 ‘Rock The Bells Tour’ which is being touted as the ‘can’t miss’ Hip Hop show of the year. Banner is slated to be a part of the events kick off show in Mansfield, MA. It is unclear at press time whether or not Banner is committed to the entire tour, but fans attending the opening weeks of the show will definitely get to see Banner perform. Those who miss the show will simply have to wait until October to get their David Banner fix.
