One of the most prolific families in all of music is the Marley family, ever since Bob Marley graced the world with his beautiful voice and timeless lyrics his contributions to the music world scene have been countless. Perhaps the greatest gifts he ever imparted on the world before he left it prematurely were his children who have in turn done their father proud with each album they have produced for public consumption. Ky-Mani Marley first hit the radio waves in 1996 when he covered some of his father’s most memorable songs. He followed that up with two more albums the second of which garnered him a Grammy nomination (where he ultimately lost out to Brother Damien Marley). After making some key appearances throughout the Hip Hop community (Young Buck’s latest album ‘Buck the World’ features Ky-Mani) he is back with a new album after a five year hiatus.
Vox Music Group, worked out a distribution deal with AAO Music in order to release Ky-Mani Marley’s latest album titled ‘Radio’ which will be in stores on September 25th. Thanks to the success of his Grammy nominated 2001 release, Ky-Mani reached a worldwide audience while on tour with Wyclef Jean. VOX’s parent company Voxonic looks to capitalize on that international appeal by using the translation technology they specialize in to present the Marley album in several different languages. Co-owners Arie Deutsch and Norman ‘Storm’ Bell showed great excitement about the upcoming Marley project, when reached for comment they were quick to point out, “Our distribution deal with AAO Music allows us to bring Ky-Mani Marley’s upcoming album to both large and small retailers nationwide. Combining our technology with AAO Music’s distribution and marketing capabilities will raise Ky-Mani’s profile as an international star to the masses.”
