We all live our lives the best way that we can and in doing so we have developed a process to make ourselves comfortable in order to better deal with the things that don’t feel so comfortable.  The Exies have written and produced (with James Michaels, known for his work with Motley Crue) an intriguing third installment, A Modern Way Of Living With The Truth, which touches on a process and the progress that buds in times of self-renewal. This collection of both driving euphonies and swallowing melodic bursts communicates the thoughts, emotions and situations that occur when one steps outside of themselves and reflects on their path for new growth and change.  It’s about time that someone takes the music industry by the horns and gives it the nourishment that it needs to function properly.  You may ask yourself what makes A Modern Way…so?  Well, take a listen and let the Exies tell you!

Leaving Song, sounds with a cold seep of acoustic guitar and a somber breeze of words.  It speaks of a new beginning and a reconstruction of the soul.  The Exies have been through a rollercoaster in the maturation of their band and in this song it is obvious that they are growing into a new phase of their musical career.  Then, abruptly switching gears, the listener then careens into a quickly building tidal wave, Lay Your Money Down.  With the cutting breakup in the voice of Scott Stevens and bombarding guitar strides, this track ignites this lyrical lesson in detaching oneself from material things.  Lately, the major portion of pop genres has lacked ‘balls’ in the composition of the music.  It’s great to see that a band like the Exies can give pop rock a long needed makeover.  Basically, they don’t write songs about their bitch ex-girlfriend leaving them because their pants weren’t tight enough or they are not only concerned about bringing back the grueling fashion and hairdos sported by bands like Flock Of Seagulls.  Their new hit single, “Different Than You,” has tattooed the radio platform all over the nation with its headbanging rhythmic jitter and dynamic movement.  A track that really shines on this record is the wondrous woeful assembly “Stay.”  It begins with the reserved flourishes of a piano creep.  A voice washes over the top of the chorus with “I swore I’d never stray from you.”   This is a song that deals with the aftermath of regret and accepting the consequences.  Like many great records, A Modern Way…has a title track.  A Modern Way Of Living With The Truth is an emotional glance at the deception of media-driven realities and the muting of our personal freedoms.  From beginning to end, this collection of music is intense and meaningful.  So… pay attention and keep an open mind.

“Artists don't normally break on third albums anymore (ala Bruce Springsteen's Born To Run), but Eleven Seven Music (the bands new label) has created a model to make it happen.”  You will have an opportunity to make the Exies album yours when it hits the stores on April 10th, 2007.   In support of their passionate music, they are running the road and paying a visit to a town near you on their current tour.  They just finished a sold-out tour with Buckcherry and Three Days Grace.  With the contagious appeal of their new single, Different Than You, the outcome of the new record and the tour will prove to be very successful.  Lets continue living our lives and become comfortable with amazing rock music that deals with the truth.
