Ludacris just can’t stop making hits.

The rapper scored his third consecutive number one debut this week with Release Therapy (Def Jam).  The disc debuted atop the Billboard charts, moving 309,000 copies its first week out.

The new studio set follows the succsess of the single “Money Maker,” which features Pharrell Williams.  “Money Maker” is also number one this week on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Mainstream Songs and the Rhythmic/Top 40 charts.

Other guests on Release Therapy include Young Jeezy, Beanie Sigel, and R. Kelly.

The Atlanta-based hip-hop star also hit the number one spot in 2003, when  Chicken 'N Beer debuted atop the charts after selling 429,500 copies.  Luda followed that up with another number one in 2004.  Red Light District claimed the top spot that year with 322,000 copies sold its first week out.

Luda, who has had major success in the acting arena lately with hits like the Oscar-winning Crash, has several projects in the works, including a comedy feature entitled Ballers and a part opposite Vince Vaughn in the Warner Bros. Picture Fred Claus. Ludacris will play an angry elf in the comedy, which also stars Paul Giamatti and Kevin Spacey and was just announced this week.

In additition to his upcoming movie roles, it looks like the rapper may have scored his very own television series with MTV.

Although the project has yet to be announced by cable network, Luda has been in talks with MTV regarding the show (working title "Halls of Fame"), which is expected to bow in 2007 and focus on the rapper helping high school kids “make it” in their respective fields of interest.

Look for the Hustle & Flow star to host Saturday Night Live Nov. 18, per Allhiphop.com.
