After winning the Best Hard Rock Performance Grammy for their breakout hit ?Slither,? Scott Weiland of Velvet Revolver spoke of the band?s plans for the follow-up to 2004?s Contraband. "We're going into pre-production this spring, and our goal and our aim is to have a record out by Christmastime," he said. "We've reached every goal that we've set so far, so I really don't see a reason why we wouldn't hit that goal."

Meanwhile, the band has released the video for Contraband?s latest single, ?Dirty Little Thing? while on tour in Australia. The video blends cool animation with performance footage and the obligatory bikini clad babes.

In other related news, there are numerous rumors surrounding the DeLeo brothers, the guitarist and bassist for Scott Weiland?s former band, Stone Temple Pilots. After resurfacing in January to play select dates and a few STP covers with a project called Farm Fur, bassist Robert posted the following thread on the official STP message board:

?Also, Dean and I have something coming up that you will all be thoroughly excited about. More of that to come.?

There is relatively heavy speculation on the Internet that the brothers may be teaming up with the remaining members of 90?s industrial rock pioneers Filter, although this is simply conjecture at this point.
