Holiday schmoliday – if we didn't get to work on Memorial Day, how else would you hear the awesome new Led Zeppelin cover from Trent Reznor and Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, or Weezer's crazy-awesome cover of Radiohead's "Paranoid Android," or even the entire new Arctic Monkeys album?
We're here for you, and we're bringing the awesome on this most excellent of three-day weekends. Turn up those speakers, fire up the BBQ and enjoy the day.
Trent Reznor & Karen O – Immigrant Song (Led Zeppelin Cover)
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, fresh off their Oscar win for scoring David Fincher's The Social Network, have returned to score another Fincher movie, the eagerly awaited English-language version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Even cooler is the fact that Reznor and Yeah Yeah Yeahs leader Karen O got together to cover Led Zeppelin's unhinged classic "Immigrant Song".
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo opens December 21, but the red-band version of the movie's trailer is showing before some screenings of The Hangover Part II, which means that the trailer has escaped for your viewing pleasure. Check it out:
Weezer – Paranoid Android (Radiohead Cover)
I never thought Weezer could pull off something like this – to the point where I visibly cringed upon hearing the news that they'd covered the Radiohead classic "Paranoid Android". But Rivers Cuomo & company have done a spectacular job on the song, which is delivered straight away and with little improvised alteration. Check it out for yourself:

Enjoy some awesome new jams while you test the limits of your blood-to-alcohol ratio today, thanks to a full stream of the Arctic Moneys' latest release Suck It And See.
Suck It and See hits stores on June 6th. Order over at Domino Records.
Jane's Addiction: End to the Lies (Video)
The new video for Jane’s Addiction’s “End To The Lies” features animated silhouettes of the remaining members of the band performing alongside and painted on top of a naked model. It's NSFW, but who's at work on a holiday?
"End to the Lies" was directed by ShadowMachine Films, the stop-motion producers of Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken and Titan Maximum.
Seasick Steve – “You Can’t Teach An Old Dog New Tricks”
Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones’ latest collaboration will arrive next week in the form of Seasick Steve’s You Can’t Teach An Old Dog New Tricks, a 12-track Third Man Records release. With Jack White on drums and production, an all-night, whiskey-fueled recording session in Nashville led to the creation of the tracks, and you can preview the full title track with Jones in the animated official video below.
Death Cab for Cutie – VH1 Storytellers (Full Set)
Death Cab for Cutie revisited a number of older songs and new cuts off their forthcoming LP Codes and Keys for the latest episode of VH1’s Storytellers, which you can watch below.
“Forgive me if I kind of stumble through explaining what these songs are about,” said Ben Gibbard before describing the writing process behind opening cut, Narrow Stairs single “Cath…,” “because there are times where I’m actually trying to still figure out for myself who is in these songs and who these people are.”
Head to VH1.com for the rest of the set. Codes and Keys is out May 31.
Mr. Little Jeans – "The Suburbs" (Arcade Fire Cover)
Covers, covers, covers. Everybody's doing them, and some better than others. This electronica spin on Arcade Fire's "The Suburbs" is pretty fantastic, coming from Norwegian singer Mr. Little Jeans. Check out this total reimagination:
