Arcade Fire are developing quite the reputation as video adventurers, whether by taking a Chrome-driven trip through an intimate hometown experience for "We Used To Wait" or, as their latest offering unveils, a short film about the death of youth.

Quirktastic director Spike Jonze teams up with Arcade Fire for a new thirty-minute short film inspired by their smash album, The Suburbs (read our review), and its themes of war and coming of age in suburbia.

Co-written by Jonze & Arcade Fire’s Win Butler & Will Butler, this companion piece to the album follows the narrator, living in a suburban dystopia, trying to piece together fragmented memories from when he was a teenager, and his experiences with his friends as they grow apart.

Head to Mubi.com to watch the 30-minute film for free. And that’s a beautiful thing.

Scenes From the Suburbs will also be included in the deluxe release of The Suburbs, which will be released on August 2nd via Merge Records.
