An ill-advised ice-cream cone facial tattoo and poorly received collaboration album with V Nasty aside, Atlanta spitter Gucci Mane has roared back to artistic relevance with his Trap Back mixtape, released Sunday amidst the Super Bowl frenzy.
The mixtape is a supremely solid showing for the rapper, with 2 Chainz, Yo Gotti, Jadakiss, Rocko, Future and Waka Flocka Flame making guest appearances, and Gucci himself sounding promisingly on point over beats from Lex Luger, Zaytoven and Drumma Boy, among others.

As Buzzfeed recently noted, an artist has made a sculpture based on the Atlanta rapper's bizarre facial ink. Tre Reising, a student at Michigan's Cranbrook Academy of Art, reportedly said, "I mean, I would give it to him … if he wants to miss out on all the swag points he would get from buying it." Damn hipster.
