Drake was dolling out double helpings of music this weekend with the release of not one but two music videos for the songs "HYFR" as well as "Take Care," which features Rihanna.
The Winnipeg Free Press broke down the two vids: "First up, Aubrey Drake Graham becomes a man – again – by throwing himself a second bar mitzvah in HYFR. His friends and family are all invited, and after cutting to some vintage home video of a pre-Drake shimmying at what's presumably his real-life bar mitzvah, the Manischewitz starts flowing in the present day. Toronto's Director X was behind the camera… The HYFR video has no shortage of famous names on the guest list – Lil Wayne, for instance – but there's one friend of Drake's who notably didn't bother to RSVP. That's Rihanna, but Drake's What's My Name video co-star makes it up to him, featuring in his second music video of the weekend, Take Care."
Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, has skyrocketed to success in the music world after gaining notoriety during his humble beginnings playing Jimmy Brooks on the home-grown show "Degrassi: The Next Generation." His first album "Thank Me Later" came out in June 2010, which he followed up with the release "Take Care" in November of last year. He has collaborated with huge players in the music biz including Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Rick Ross, and Eminem.
Drake announced that he is working on his third album in a recent interview with Hiphop DX. "I’m just sort of at that place where I’m collecting beats. I recently did some work with 2 Chainz, he’s an incredible artist from the U.S. that’s buzzing right now," he said. "But aside from that, I’m just collecting beats."
