To keep fans in the goods between albums, Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced plans to release a series of stand-alone singles over the course of the next six months.
Writing on Twitter, bassist Flea claimed their recent I’m With You album will shortly be followed up with a run of 18 single releases. The band has been 'writing stuff while touring' and will ‘put out 18 new songs over the next 6 months on 7 inch and digi,’ he tweeted.
The news from Flea follows another tweet by drummer Chad Smith, who revealed that the band has at least 10 more B-sides off I’m With You in the can. According to Exclaim.ca, singer Anthony Kiedis also weighed in, though not on Twitter but at a recent gig in Grand Rapids, MI, where he announced, “We got a storm of seven-inches coming out over the next six months. Keep one eye open.”
