Drake, Chris Brown Sued Over Nightclub Fight

Artists' entourages facing repercussions for bar room brawl.

They are probably wondering, was it really worth it? Both Canadian musician Drake as well as American Chris Brown are being sued for $16 million after their entourages got into a pretty severe bar brawl in New York City last June.

While both of their publicists refused to immediately comment on the events that took place (then as well as now), the Associated Press is reporting that Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., who owns the trademark for Greenhouse, the venue where the bottle-throwing altercation occurred, filed a $16 million claim Wednesday against the rapper and the R&B singer. Despite the lawsuit, no actual criminal charges have been filed as of yet.

The AP went on to report that the lawsuit points to news accounts of bad blood between Brown and Drake, both of whom have dated R&B singer Rihanna and have been in a chart battle for months. Entertainment Enterprises believes that the two men instigated, encouraged, or at least failed to stop the fight, lawyer Andrew T. Miltenberg said. "It's their posse, and they're in charge, and to the extent that they could have controlled or dissipated whatever was going on, we don't believe they did," he said to the AP.

According to reports, Drake's group instigated the fight after approaching Brown's people as they were leaving the club. The Greenhouse remained closed for several weeks following the incident and reopened on July 20th.
