Trent Reznor Working On New Queens of The Stone Age Album

Nine Inch Nails nucleus will guest on the upcoming new album from QOTSA.

Nine Inch Nails/How To Destroy Angels mastermind Trent Reznor began taking part in Reddit's "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) feature earlier this morning (Tuesday), and immediately the music world was ablaze with a barrage of updates from the notoriously reclusive musical architect.

While a majority of his responses centered on his latest project How to Destroy Angels, rock fans' "oh shit!" meters hit their peak upon witnessing the following exchange:

Q: Aside from destroy angel's new EP, what's next for you?

A: A number of things. Tweaking some things for the HTDA full LP (coming in Spring), helping Josh out on a new QOTSA track, working with Roy, starting rehearsals for two bands."

Fans will remember that Reznor guested on the title track to the band's last album, Era Vulgaris, though it wasn't included on the official release. Listen to the track below, and read Antiquiet's interview with Josh Homme wherein he discusses working on the track with Trent, why it's not included on the album, and breaks down some details on the song Homme sang on for NIN's Year Zero which was never released.

Additionally, Reznor made comments on Reddit's AMA about rehearsals for two bands, further fueling speculation that Nine Inch Nails will return in full swing next year.

Also, in case you didn't hear, Queens have a familiar face returning to the drum kit for their almost-completed new album: Dave Grohl.
