Tulisa’s Album Sells an Embarrassing 7000 Copies

Former N-Dubz singer's debut album flops.

Even though she has a spot on the X Factor judging panel, one of the most high-profile jobs in television, it seems that no amount of exposure can help boost the sales of Tulisa's debut solo album The Female Boss, as it has sold just 7000 copies since its release.

At the time of writing the LP is sitting at #17 in the UK charts, but by the time the weekly charts are announced on Sunday, it may not even make the top 20. To make matters worse, the album has been almost universally panned by critics.

"Essentially, Tulisa is like a Primark Rihanna – or a Prihanna, if you will", writes Gigwise. "It smacks of desperation, and it sucks, in general."

"As she and her X Factor co-stars keep reminding us every Saturday night, it's often as much about having 'it' as it is the voice," agrees digitalspy, "though whatever the secret ingredient is, it's sorely missing from her own collection."

Tulisa took to the X Factor stage last weekend for a whiny performance of her latest track 'Sight Of You', which was promptly criticised by practically anyone watching the show with access to a Twitter account.

A slot on the X Factor typically spells good forture for the performers, with Olly Murs, Robbie Williams, Labrinth and Emeli Sande all topping the charts after performing on the show, and former judge Cheryl Cole, who was replaced by Tulisa after falling out with show boss Simon Cowell, had her profile raised dramatically by sitting on the panel.
