Best Original Song Oscar: Adele Leads Nominees

Epanding to five nominees, the Academy Awards will make Adele's win as suspenseful as they can.

Last year, the Academy only presented two nominations to choose from in the Best Original Song category. A more varied approach has been taken in 2013, with five songs up for Oscar gold. The voting process previously only allowed songs that earned an average score to be nominated.

Regardless, we may as well pack it in now. Adele's taking the trophy on this one for "Skyfall," the theme song to the latest James Bond movie of the same name.

Nominees:

"Friend" from Ted, by Walter Murphy and Seth MacFarlane

"Pi's Lullaby" from Life of Pi, by Mychael Danna and Bombay Jayashri

"Skyfall" from Skyfall, by Adele Adkins and Paul Epworth

"Suddenly" from Les Miserables, by Claude-Michel Schonberg, Herbert Kretzmer and Alain Boublil

Additionally, Original Score category nominees are as follows:

Anna Karenina, Dario Marianelli

Argo, Alexandre Desplat

Life of Pi, Mychael Danna

Lincoln, John Williams;

Skyfall, Thomas Newman.

The 85th Oscars will take place Feb. 24, with MacFarlane hosting. The ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC.
