As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis was arrested Tuesday in Oceanside, CA, in an alleged plot to hire a hitman to kill his estranged wife.
The Christian-metalcore singer was reportedly arrested at a store on Vista Way after allegedly soliciting an undercover officer to kill the woman.
Authorities had been investigating the singer for the previous few days after becoming aware of Lambesis' intentions. With an official charge of solicitation of murder, Lambesis was booked into the Vista Jail with a court appearance expected Thursday or Friday.
San Diego County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the arrest, stating, “The information came to us late last week. We acted quickly on it. I believe that we averted a great tragedy.”
Fans holding tickets to the band's scheduled North American trek later this month could very well find themselves a few bucks out of luck.
