Los Angeles rock station KROQ dropped a rock bombshell after the sun went down at this year's KROQ Weenie Roast festival at the Verizon Ampitheater in Irvina, CA: Stone Temple Pilots took the stage for a surprise performance with their new singer, a man you'll recognize: Chester Bennington of Linkin Park.
While fired original singer Scott Weiland toured on his own attempt to recreate the STP magic, problems still plague the former Velvet Revolver singer. Fitting like a glove with the band, Bennington's voice breathed tremendous new life into old classics including "Vaseline," "Big Bang Baby," "Interstate Love Song" and many more. As the sold-out capacity crowd were treated to excellent renditions of a staggering number of classics, fans were reminded how many hits STP has in their catalogue.
Like clockwork, the band premiered a new song called "Out Of Time" during the set, and the track can be streamed below, or downloaded in exchange for an e-mail address.
