Ladytron's new album, Velocifero, expands on the heavyweight synth-pop template established on the band's previous releases. "Black Cat" rips the album open with a buzzsaw bass line and a pounding, distorted kick/snare cadence that's impossible to ignore. With a full slate of European and North American tour dates this summer, audiences are getting to experience Ladytron's sound, and hear for themselves how the group has redefined the genre they helped establish.
