Lil Scrappy: Because it's like you have one element, and you don't have the other. Like, we might have the singles, but we don't know which one to put out first. Or, we got the single, and we don't have the video -- It just takes a little time.
CraveOnline: Bred 2 Die, Born 2 Live -- Conceptually what does this title represent??
Lil Scrappy: You can use this analogy; like we were bred to do our thing (on) the earth. We breed like pits and the rest of the mammals on earth, but in the timeline, you know, from the beginning to the end -- The middle of the timeline you got to get your money, do your thing, and take care of responsibilities, and live life.
CraveOnline: With this new record you have also united with another like minded individual in the form of 50 Cent -- How did this union come to be??
Lil Scrappy: I mean, we was always down or whatever, and I had got into a little situation. I got hit with a bottle, and I was laid up in the hospital for like 2, 3 days (before) I came home. And, I was laying there [at home] for, like, a month or whatever, and nobody called me. Then, 50 called me out the blue, and gave me some encouraging words. I got up, and it was time to go again, and I ended up being on the Anger Management Tour with him. And, me and 50 had already talked or whatever about connecting, so (I) just went to holla at Jon, and everything went down.
CraveOnline: Musically, how does this project either differ and/or compare to the material on your joint release with Trillville??
Lil Scrappy: That was (just) a compilation, it was (only) an EP. It was just a compilation of the Crunk movement. This one right here is, like, straight Scrappy. (It's) all about Scrappy (now). (It's) all about his life, his hurt, his glory -- Everything.
CraveOnline: When it came time to actually put this record together -- What did the whole overall creative process of the album entail??
Lil Scrappy: It's just the best of both worlds (with 50 Cent and Lil Jon). You got your Hip-Hop diversity which comes from the kid, 50. Then, you got the Crunk, and Down South sh*t, that come from Lil Jon -- Feel me?? So, it's like putting 'em together. You gonna do some records with Jon. You gonna do some records with 50. (You gonna) do some records by yourself, and put it in there. And, then you got a masterpiece.
CraveOnline: At what point did music first enter into your life??
Lil Scrappy: I was like nine, and I used to be in school, or whatever, seeing people rap and stuff like that. And then, I went to school, when I was in, like, first and second grade, with Another Bad Creation. Yeah, I went to school with 'em, and the girls used to chase 'em down the halls, and I used to like the whole 'Poppy' thing. Then I was like, "Man, I want to do that!!" So, I tried that a lil bit, then I stopped 'cause I was like, "Hell Naw!!" I'm a regular (brotha), I don't give a f!@# how you go through life. You go through, like, some bad sh*t or whatever, and you just want to get away from it. And, I didn't know how to get away from all my pain and my frustration, so all I would do is fight, and that's where I got the name Scrappy. Then when I started rapping, it's almost...Like when you get (all) through rapping, it felt like a stress relief. So, I was like, "Damn, I can do that (instead of fighting)." That was, like, when I got (to be age) thirteen, and I went...I actually stabbed a dude in the head, like, eight times or whatever, went to go stay with my daddy, and came back and went to high school. For a good lil minute, I was doing poems and stuff, and that's a stress reliever, (too). (It was a way) to get away from all my pain. And, I ended up going to boot camp 'cause I got caught selling weed in school, and when I came back out, one of my dudes had my song bumpin' in the club, and everybody was loving (it). Me and him, his name's Bingo, me and him had already been putting out like mixtape CD's, and stuff like that, like 4, 5 songs on one CD. (We'd) put 'em out, (and) spread 'em around. Then he did the 'Head Bussa' (track), and it caught on, everybody loved it, and that's when I was about eighteen when I came out the boot camp thang, and then out of that (Lil) Jon came.
CraveOnline: What has been, and will continue to be, the key to your success??
Lil Scrappy: To always be better than I was last time. That'll keep a dude going, 'cause if I came out last time I'd be like, "I didn't quite do everything I wanted to do." I could (always) keep it new.
CraveOnline: Lyrically, where do you draw your inspiration(s) from??
Lil Scrappy: I actually don't write (my rhymes). (Everything comes off the) top of the head, top of the heart. I just go in there [the studio], feel the music, smoke me a blunt, drink me some Patron [Tequila] and let's go!!
CraveOnline: I know you've recently been testing some new waters with your foray into acting -- Do you have any other aspirations, maybe even outside of entertainment altogether, as well??
Lil Scrappy: I want to have my own clothing company. I got (some) groups coming out -- Just everything (I'd like to do). I want to (go) as far (as) the sky takes me. Right now, I done flew in an airplane, and all that, (but) spaceships done went out to other planets, and the moon and stuff, and nobody ever seems to touch the sky. So, if there's no touching the sky, that's where I wanna go.
CraveOnline: Since everyone either knows you already, or will become familiar with you, for and through your music, what would you want these same people to know about Lil Scrappy that they won't get from listening to your records??
Lil Scrappy: I have no idea 'cause what I spit, everything's in there. I want 'em to know (that) I'm God fearing, but sometimes I have an attitude problem. I can be (a) loose cannon at some time; ('cause) I got a bad temper, (but) I love women (and I) love my little girl.
CraveOnline: What does the future hold for Lil Scrappy??
Lil Scrappy: Ah, man, (I'm gonna be) a billionaire, man. A billionaire (still) doing (it). I'm gonna be like, "God damn!!" I'm gonna be Warner Brothers in a minute!!
CraveOnline: And, finally, have you and your label mates, Trillville, made amends with one another??
Lil Scrappy: Naw, man. It's some people who you can work with, (and) some people you can't work with. And, to be grown about it, you just rather just let the dude do his thing, and you do yours.
CraveOnline: Is there anything you want to leave our readers with??
Lil Scrappy: Yeah, man, if you're out there trying to do your thing, man, do your thing by yourself as much as you can, and get your own thing going. It's real easy. But, if you can't, it get (real) hard on you. You gotta get that paper, (so) go on ahead and sign to a big label, (but) make sure you get (your) paper right, and your whole thing right, before you sign -- That's what it is.
