Let's get this out of the way first thing…yes, all five members of Brooklyn-born rockers the Skins are kids. And at the tender age of 13, drummer Reef Cole only barely qualifies as a teenager.
But in case your frightened mind immediately leaps to thoughts of Hanson or — even more scarring — the soul-searing pain of Kidz Bop, siblings Bayli, Reef and Kaya Mckeithan along with friends Daisy Spencer and Russell Chell want to tear down those fears right now.
The Skins are for real — and the Skins can rock.
Graduates from New York's School Of Rock, the band's mix of soul, punk and rock caught the attention of "Entourage" star Adrian Grenier, who signed them to his fledgling Wreckroom Records label last year.
On the back of their debut EP "The Skins," the band is now hitting the festival circuit, including a crowd-pleasing performance at the Everest Mansion in Park City, Utah as part of the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
Crave's Nash Herrington talked with the band about their unique sound, what's to come from their forthcoming first album and playing Sundance. Check out the interview and part of their performance above!
